FITC Amsterdam How Boston
1am - February 24 2008 ·
i'll take a moment of silence to wish that i was in amsterdam starting tomorrow for the FITC conference.. it pretty much the best programmers in the world on actionscript.. they wrote the books literally... and what it reminds me of is how much the how design conference in boston is pretty lame.

...update... i forgot to mention an avent apart.. :)
i was expecting to prove a big point here except that fitc's is using coldfusion and is ripe with errors as well.. so se la vie.

it's almost like the folks who didn't really get invited to the cool after party.. no offense towards anyone personally.. but the How event seems a bit marred by commercialism when what we really praise in the digital (and let's face it.. print/photography/video is a digital too) world are the programmers and artist..
(do you know these people? i was about to be shocked when i had thought the name on the bottom right was dave winer at first?)..
the more i looked into who they are... most of them are or were pretty well connected to some sort of design outlet mostly in the corporate setting. There is some talent, but after having read and took a look at almost every bio and website... there's still some lame-aucities in the business design world.
but i could most likely (see real world) benefit from a lesson from any of them on business... and i guess that's the point.. but i would call it the "HOW to business of design conference"
