True Stories.....buy or rent this movie I give it a top ten of all time! :)
in fact davidbryne radio is sometimes sweeter than radio paradise (check out this map of thier listeners) or KCRW.....and how I got to this post.. if you look a couple back.. you'll notice a video of me playing tony hawk's underground for the xbox... well in that game in the Berlin level.. on the side of the wall of the large building that has the polka band playing at the bottom of it.. you'll notice a black and white image of Andre the Giant from WWF wrestling fame. The reason that image is there is because of a kid named Sheppard Fairey and the image starting popping up in Charleston and Savannah the same years I was at SCAD 91'..92'...and seeing as I had seen live WWF wrestling at the township auditorium back in maybe 83' I was all too familiar with Andre the Giant..
but this is all off point..
Since then, Obey Giant has become some sort of pop icon to a world of hipsters.. and having known another kid who moved out to LA to tag along I recently reread his artist statement.
And it is all to similar of the billboards that David Byrne (the guy in the hat at the end of the video) took out in Rhode Island while at RISD..

And then in boston yesterday.. the two guys that shut the city half down over some Aqua teen hunger force subversive propoganda.. for the cartoon network no less..but thier site is quite nice.. including the soundboard setup.. here's an article from msnbc.
I think I'm going to do something similar.. a couple billboards, a puzzle like maze of websites, some crazy imagery and instead of a sublime message.. I think I'll lead people to information that they would otherwise never know they have access to.. like this or whatnot.. sound like fun.. do you want to help find me some endowment monies for these sorts of things.. contact me.. we'll talk.
